The Unit Breed Trabant Love Songs Pink Black Power Struggle
These movies are of low quality so that they can be easily downloaded. After a little messing around, I think they will work on both mac and PC. However, I have only tested them using the quicktime player plug in, so don't expect them to run in real player or windows media player or any of those other crappy video programs. Go to apple and get quicktime. It's free, and it doesn't destroy your computer (real) or allow hackers to take over your computer (windows).
Apt. 2D Poorly lit 16mm project. I love 16mm, now I want to be a millionaire so I can shoot in it all the time! - 11/30/2007
The Sloth Hunter I took my camera to Panama, and I felt like Herzog, but without the talent. The crew mutinied, the cast were bitten by poisonous snakes and my leading lady went insane and reverted to nature. This is the result. - 11/30/2007
Animation and a new camera! - 3/01/2007
A commentary on terror and panic 02/01/2007
I couldn't resist. Go Boston!
Trabant - One Two 08/28/2006
Here is the first video for my new band. Of course I have a video before I have a CD! Shut up! This was shot in budapest.
The Cost - La Brea 7/5/2003
Here's a video of an unreleased song by The Cost, called "La Brea". This was filmed at their last show at Gilman. It's pretty big (13 megs) and I couldn't get it to compress smaller, so prepare for some downloading!
Jean Mikoyan - Mr. Teeth 11/28/2005
Well, in between bands, I have to do something, right? Everybody likes the old electronic game simon, don't they? If you want, here it is in divx format: divx avi
Cloud Factory 2/28/2004
The first of two videos that will be on Pirx the Pilot's new album "Famous in 47 States" I have a new camera, and it looks good (though not in this super-compressed version. Buy the cd and you'll see it in glorious black and white!
What Not To Wear 3/4/2004
The second of two videos that will be on Pirx the Pilot's new album "Famous in 47 States" I knew I was a bad dancer, but now I have photographic evidence.
Video for Page 23 1/1/2003
Erica directed this video for Page 23 as part of her senior project in college. Hooray! Erica is a college graduate now.
Modern Machines Live 8/24/2002
Here's some nice footage of the modern machines playing in a park in SF. The guy in the white button down shirt is a local drunk, notice how much more enthusiasm he has than the kids?
Def Poets Society 9/1/02
I don't know why I didn't do this earlier, but here it is, the video that comes with the Def Poets Society CD. Keep your eyes out for members of d.b.s. in this video. The CD version is full screen, but you wouldn't want to download 50 megs, so I compressed it.
Being Ernst 4/29/2002
Ok, what does a director do when he has no actors and no plot? Something that looks like this.
Pirx the Pilot: "Pet Rock City" Video 3/26/2002
The first video from our brand new album, available in full-screen when you buy the CD. With footage from our 2001 tour.
Pirx the Pilot: "Love Song" Video 9/01/2001
Thanks to some cool equipment Brock loaned me, I was able to convert this video from a song on our first CD to web format.
Dolphins and Terror, 02/25/2002
Ok, this is really silly. I've got to start filming some bands at shows.
Drugs and Terror, 02/14/2002
I thought that the superbowl ads on drugs and terror were a little hard to follow, and might not really reach the correct audience, so I made my own.
The New Disorder Office, 02/04/2002
Ever wonder what goes on in the glamorous headquarters of new disorder? Well, see for yourself. watch the dancing monkeys! See the huge piles of cocaine!
The New Disorder Office - take two, 02/04/2002
Ok, that was how ernst sees the new disorder office. This is what happens inside new disorder according to all the bands.
Love Songs at Mission Records, 02/02/2002
We never thought that Love Songs, which is Craigums from Your Mother and What Happens Next? doing his own side project, would actually play live. Nevertheless, here it is in all its glory, with some remnants of Your Mother playing in the band.
Sharp Knife at Mission Records, 02/02/2002
Sharp Knife is the teen-age supergroup of the bay area. Members of The Jocks, The Lab Rats, Miso Militia and The Sidekicks. Morgan broke a microphone at this show. That was a surprise
Pirx the Pilot at Gilman, 01/26/2002
This was a show with Yaphet Kotto and Milemarker, so our simple minds said "EMO" That's why we were all wearing sweaters and highwater pants and glasses. Of course, you can't see all that detail in a movie this crappy. Oh well. You also can't see the mustaches that erica and ernst are wearing.
Pirx the Pilot at Gilman, 01/26/2002
Sweaters are hot, so I took mine off. Some crazy person had written "Tickle me, Elmo" on my chest in marker.
Fleshies at 16th and Mission Bart station, 01/19/2002
The fleshies are the most manic live band in the bay area right now. Since there's nowhere to play anymore, people have shows at the BART station. The power comes from an outlet someone found in a bus shelter.
Pirx the Pilot practicing, 01/05/2002
I know, this is sort of boring, but I just got my camera, and I wanted to see how it worked. Look at our vast practice space. Too bad it won't last much longer, then we'll be in Scott's shed.
